The Washington Capitals are a National Hockey League franchise that was formed in Washington, D.C. in 1974. The Capitals compete in the Southeast Division and have won been crowned division champs 4 times, and while the club won the Eastern Conference Championship in 1998, they are still looking for their first Stanley Cup Championship. The Capitals play their home games at the Verizon Center located at 601 F Street Northwest in Washington, D.C, and the popular venue has a seating capacity of over 18,000 seats.
