South Carolina Gamecocks Basketball Tickets
The South Carolina Gamecocks basketball program competes in the rugged Southeastern Conference, and their direct rivals are found in the SEC's loaded Eastern Division. The Gamecocks play in one of the conferences nicest venues, the state-of-the-art Colonial Center, which enjoys a seating capacity of 18,000 seats and is located at 801 Lincoln Street in Columbia, South Carolina. The Colonial Center box office has enjoyed fantastic ticket sales since opening in 2002, and Gamecock fans love to see their basketball team play in Columbia. The versatile Colonial Center also offers box office tickets for amazing concerts, as some of the nation's hottest musical artists have traveled through South Carolina's capital city to put on fantastic shows. South Carolina's 2008-2009 basketball schedule at Colonial Center will showcase a lot of change for the Gamecocks, who will be led by new head coach Darrin Horn who left perennial power Western Kentucky to replace former coach Dave Odom who retired after the season. The Gamecocks had some good moments in 2007, but ultimately weren't able to put it all together as they finished the season at 14-18 and 5-11 in the SEC, although they nearly pulled off a monumental upset in their final game as they lost to No. 6 Tennessee 89-87.
Horn and his Gamecocks will face some tough tests during the year at the Colonial Center in Columbia, one of which will be the arch-rival Clemson Tigers who have dismantled the Gamecocks each of the last four seasons. The SEC slate is chock-full of adversity as well, as South Carolina hosts the Florida Gators, Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Volunteers, and Kentucky Wildcats and each of these visitors are perennial invitees to the NCAA Tournament in March and April. But regardless of the opponent, Horn appears up to the challenge of having the Gamecocks display the tenacity and results that propelled his Western Kentucky team to the "Sweet Sixteen" in the 2008 NCAA Tournament. It's going to be an exciting year, so get your tickets for South Carolina Gamecocks basketball at the Colonial Center in Columbia, SC as coach Darrin Horn and the upstart Gamecocks look to turn it around in the both the SEC and NCAA Tournament in 2008.
