Chicago Bears Tickets
The Chicago Bears have as much heritage as any team in the National Football Conference and the National Football League. The Bears compete in the NFC North Division, and play their home games at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears Stadium has a seating capacity of 61,500 and is one of the most famous stadiums in the entire NFL. The Bears NFC Division rivals are the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and of course, the long-standing and fierce rivalry with the Green Bay Packers. Head Coach Lovie Smith enters his 5th season with Chicago, eager to get the team back to its winning ways after completing the 2007 NFL schedule with a 7-9 record and a 4th place finish in the NFC North. There were a lot of off the field distractions for the coaches and players to deal with, and in the end that proved to be too much. The team did have its share of productive players, led by Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Tommie Harris, and Cedric Benson.
The Bears leadership starts with Team President Ted Phillips and GM Jerry Angelo. Both men are aware of the tradition rich legacy they are in charge of maintaining. The Bears franchise was first established in 1922, and remains one of the two charter teams still in existence. The Bears are the proud owners of 9 league championships, including being the 1985 Super Bowl Champions. The 9 titles are second most in NFL history. To cap it all off, the Bears enjoy the most Hall of Fame enshrinees with 26.
Entering 2008, the Bears team and leadership are eager to erase the bad taste left from the 2007 season. The Bears resigned team leader Lance Briggs, brought back fan favorite Marty Booker, and decided to hold on to quarterbacks Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton. Additionally, the Bears will make a huge splash in the 2008 NFL draft using their 10 draft picks to add talent to an already talented roster. The 10 picks include a first round selection at number 14.
