The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't get off to the best start. After beginning the first 2 seasons with an 0-26 record, initial head coach John McKay was asked what he thought about his team's execution. "I'm all for it." Mckay responded. Fast forward to the 2002 season when the Buccaneers were the NFL's Super Bowl Champions and you get an idea of just how far the Buccaneers franchise has come. Tampa Bay plays in the NFC South Division of the National Football League. Their major National Football Conference division rivals are the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers play in Tampa, Florida, at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers Stadium has a seating capacity of 65,567. Head coach John Gruden has had a lot of success in Tampa, and bounced back from a disappointing 2006 season to finish the 2007 NFL schedule at 9-7 and a 1^st place finish in the NFC South. The resurgence was led by star players Jeff Garcia, Joey Galloway, Derrick Brooks, and Ronde Barber. Star running back Cadillac Williams suffered a knee injury and missed all but 3 games. Future star Gaines Adams, a former Clemson Tiger, really impressed during the 2007 campaign, leading all rookies with 6 sacks and securing a place on the 2007 All-Rookie Team.

The Tampa Bay franchise was established in 1976, and was moved to the NFC the following year. Current owner Malcolm Glazer took control of the team in 1995, and the Buccaneers greatest stretch of success has happened under his watch. Since Glazer took over, the Buccaneers have won 4 division titles, one conference title, and the aforementioned Super Bowl. The run of success began when Glazer hired then Minnesota Defensive Coordinator, Tony Dungy.

The Buccaneers approach the 2008 season looking to build off of last season success and playoff appearance. The Buccaneers have been extremely involved in the free agent market, bringing back fan favorite Warrick Dunn. They also signed Center Jeff Faine and Safety Eugene Wilson. The Buccaneers have a great history of selecting productive players in the annual draft, as evidenced by the aforementioned Gaines Adams in last year's draft. Tampa Bay has 5 picks in the 2008 NFL Draft, including the 20^th pick overall. Both Gruden and GM Bruce Allen signed contract extensions this off-season, which run through the 2011 season.
