The Seahawks' NFL history is a little more limited than other teams, playing its first game in 1976. They are the only NFL team to have switched division twice. They have won the division 6 times; they have played for the conference championship twice, winning once and losing once. The played in the previously mentioned 2005 Super Bowl, and many people argued outplayed the eventual winners. The Hawks are owned by Chairman Paul Allen, and run by CEO Jody Patton. The leadership has done a remarkable job transitioning the team from the Kingdome, to the beautiful Qwest field. Qwest Field is aided by the fans, collectively referred to as the 12th Man. In honor of the crowd, the number 12 was retired by the Seahawks.
The 2008 season holds a lot of hope for the Seahawks, as they attempt again to win the highest prize in the NFL. In addition to re-signing current players and signing free agent players, the Seahawks will look to add talent via the 2008 draft.
