International fame and passionate residence in The Raider Nation. The Oakland Raiders belong to the American Football Conference in the National Football League. The Raiders, also known as the "Silver and Black", compete in the AFC West Division against main rivals the San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs. The 2008 holds a lot of promise for the Raiders. Lane Kiffen has assembled a lot of talent that when mature, should get the Raiders back into the playoffs. Leading that charge will be the first pick overall in the 2007 NFL Draft, Jamarcus Russell. In the 2008 NFL Draft, the Raiders have 5 picks, including the 4^th overall pick. The Raiders have been as active as any NFL team in free agent market, the other area where a team can make great strides. The Raiders have added Pro-Bowl CB DeAngelo Hall, WR Javon Walker, and Safety Gibril Wilson who played with the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants last season. Continuing to shore up the WR position and the offensive line, the Raiders added WR Drew Carter, Center John Wade, and Left Tackle Kwame Harris.
